The development of ultrasound devices with a frequency greater than 15MHz has led to the creation of the high-frequency ultrasound (HFUS), which enables the identification of the skin’s different layers and structures as well as appendages. This has expanded its use considerably in various dermatological conditions, particularly in cutaneous neoplasms. Its association with color Doppler allows the study of tumor microcirculation. In the present paper, the authors discuss the main clinical characteristics of malignant cutaneous neoplasms and how high-frequency ultrasound allows a better pre-operative evaluation of those lesions.

Background: Abdominal cutaneous and subcutaneous nodules are uncommon benign or malignant lesions. The majority of the malignant nodules are metastatic in origin and may be the initial presentation of a primary malignancy; hence, an early diagnosis is important. Our aim of this study was to find out the spectrum of lesions (both non-neoplastic and neoplastic) that present as cutaneous and subcu...

Background: Cutaneous lymphomas are monoclonal neoplastic proliferations of immune cells most frequently T or B cells that infiltrates skin. Development of new diagnostic methods, particularly those for immunophenotyping, have substantially changed classification of these neoplasms. These reasons prompted us to perform this study. Objective: To re-classify cutaneous lymphomas and pseudoly...
